Day 19 -S for Sun, Sunshine, Sunrise & Sunsets, Sibblings, Snow and Smiles.

The alphabet S stands for Sun. Sun is the center of our existence. Can we even live without the Sun? Without Sun, we would just die. Who remembers “Jadoo” from Koi Mil Gaya? I feel I am like Jadoo. I feel happy when it’s Sunny outside and cloudy weather makes me feel sad. When I moved to UK I was worried if the shorter days in winters would affect me. The sun would set by 3:45 in December, and it would be dark by the time I left from work. Somehow I kept busy and it did not alter my moods. However, I’m currently in ecstatic mood, with day setting in only by 9 and I am waiting for the next month when it gets longer still.

Sunrise and Sunsets are the most beautiful and romantic thing. Is there a better way to bond then seeing the day begin or end together. Every Sunrise brings in a promise of new beginnings and each sunset ends the day with peace.

S is for Sibblings, and how boring the world would be, if not for Sibblings. I am the younger one, and I have all the range of memories of love, hate and everything else in between as we grew up. We would fight over Maggi. This brings a smile now, but used to be a big thing then. As I left for hostel, we became close and until today, I am the secret keeper.

Sibblings are the people we practice on, the people who teach us about fairness and cooperation and kindness and caring – quite often the hard way.

I love Snow and I am grateful for this wonder of nature. My early childhood was spent in Shimla and I do have faint memories of snow. This year, when it snowed here, I was ecstatic. There was a forecast, and the first thing I looked up on waking up was whether it was snowing, and I must not have wasted a minute inside. The whole world transforms into a white fairyland. It gets cold later, but every good thing comes with a price.

I am grateful for smiles. It takes only 2 muscles to smile and 28 to frown. Smile sets everything right, whether it’s a little tiff or a burdensome heavy day. Smiles are contagious. U give one, u get many back. They just make life more beautiful. Did u smile today?
