The dreadful silence

Ah that silence again !
The silence creeping inside the bones,
The silence numbing you from inside,
The silence which gnaws at you from within,
No it’s not that peace there,
It’s the lull before the storm,
Or is it the one after devastation!

Do you know what comes after it?
Another jumble of thoughts!
Those pieces of jigsaw puzzle which do not make any sense.
The brain seems to be exploding!
Yet I do not know the way out.

Shall I go and talk?
Ah they will think, he’s an idiot again.
Has talking ever been any good to anyone?

No I will keep it all buried within.
The already full jar is leaking again.
Like someone has opened the can of worms,
Or was it me again this time?

Ah! The silence, it’s there again.
I dread it because it would bring the thoughts again.

Do you know close to 800 000 people die due to suicide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds. Suicide is a global phenomenon and occurs throughout the lifespan. Depression is one of the leading causes of suicide. If you know someone struggling, talk to them! Sometimes, a kind word is more than enough to talk someone out.
