Shallow

She closed her eyes. She did not want to hear what he said anymore. She had known him for 6 months now. She thought she knew him, but now everything appeared so superficial, so shallow.

It was like she was listening to a stranger. She knew nothing of his double life, as he knew nothing of hers.

Two imperfect people who were trying to form a relation based on half baked truths. How long would it last? She never thought it then.

But now when he spoke about his conscience, about his wife, about his kids, she did not know what to react.

When they had started dating, she was just looking for fun. No attachments, she had told herself. Yet, when a woman loves she does get involved, and she had.

Had she kicked him out, she would have not given it a second thought. Today, he was the one who was kicking her out. She could not decide, who was more shallow.
