Pest

Daily Prompt : Pest

Strange are the ways of our society. We believe in the concept of family, yet when it comes to how a family runs it's living is decided by society.

If a man earns the livelihood for the family, and an educated female supports from home, by keeping the home tidy, by cooking,by taking care of kids, we look down upon that female as wasting her education. What does she do anyway?

Stranger still, where a female earns and man does the same functions, we call him pest. Hey, look he lives on his wife's income. Where is his ego? He should wear bangles and so on.

When a female leaves her childhood home after marriage and moves to be with her husband and his family, we call it good and cultured.

However, when a male leaves his childhood home after marriage to be with his wife and her family, we call him " House Husband", and look down upon all the parties involved as if there was no heinous crime than this.

Gender equality ! I think that concept will always remain alien, till we can respect such choices.
